Wilton, UK -- The Triangle system is specifically designed for measuring the flow rate of powders, granulates and other bulk materials even in difficult applications such as pneumatic conveying or ‘free fall’.
This new flow rate system consists of a sensor with transmitting and receiving electrodes and an indicating transmitter/totaliser.
It employs innovative ‘Field Time Control Technology’ where a concentrated electric field is generated between the sensor’s transmitting and the receiving electrodes.
The reaction time of the sensor increases as soon as the solid particles interfere with the electric field and the sensor signal output corresponds to the flow rate of the bulk material.

SUNNYVALE CA, USA --The MAX2062 high-linearity, dual analog/digital variable-gain amplifier (VGA) operates in the 50MHz to 1000MHz frequency range with two independent attenuators in each signal path.
Each digital attenuator is controlled as a slave peripheral using either the SPI™-compatible interface, or a 5-bit parallel bus with 31dB total adjustment range in 1dB steps.
An added feature allows rapid-fire gain selection among each of the four steps, preprogrammed by the user through the SPI-compatible interface. A separate 2-pin control lets the user quickly access any one of four customized attenuation states without reprogramming the SPI bus.
Each analog attenuator is controlled using an external voltage or through the SPI-compatible interface using an on-chip 8-bit DAC.
Since each of the stages has its own external RF input and RF output, this component can be configured to either optimize noise figure (NF) (amplifier configured first), OIP3 (amplifier last), or a compromise of NF and OIP3.

Olympus has introduce its latest ultrasonic industrial NDT system, the In-Line ERW Tube Inspection System.
This new inspection system uses advanced phased array technology to inspect weld seams and the heat-affected zone (HAZ) of electrical resistance welded (ERW) tubes.
The main advantage of this innovative system is that it performs ERW tube inspections using advanced phased array technology in place of the conventional ultrasound technology currently available on the market. Phased array offers broad sector coverage of the HAZ while maintaining constant amplitude.
This unique solution provides constant amplitude detection within the entire inspection area, even when there is significant weld seam movement relative to the probes. In addition, PA technology permits electronic optimization of the beam shape in order to enhance the detection of small defects such as penetrators.
