Bruker Daltonics announces the maXis(TM), redefining high speed, ultra high resolution mass spectrometry
Bremen Germany -- Bruker Daltonics' new maXis(TM), an Electrospray Ultra-High Resolution tandem Time of Flight (UHR-Qq-TOF) mass spectrometer demonstrates Bruker's leadership in cutting-edge mass spectrometers. It is designed to meet future requirements in applications including small molecule identification, metabolomics, quantitative proteomics, as well as biomarker discovery and validation.
The maXis is unique in offering simultaneous no-compromise ultra-high resolution of 40,000 - 60,000 FWHM over a broad mass range, MS and MS/MS mass accuracy typically between 600 and 800 ppb, and all at speeds of up to 20 full spectra per second.

Uses of IR Dye with Near IR Imager to see tumor beneath skin surface

Probe signal is displayed in pseudo color and is merged with a grey scale white light image of the mouse.}Lincoln NE, USA -- Cancer cells are often characterized by a high metabolic rate exemplified by an elevated rate of glycolysis. This observation forms the basis for positron emission tomography (PET) using glucose analogues such as 18F-2-deoxy-D-glucose (18FDG) to visualize primary tumors and their metastases.Radiolabeled 2-deoxy-Dglucose (2-DG) is generally impractical for use in small animal studies of cancer biology. Fluorophore-labeled variants of 2-deoxy-D-glucose have been used with varying degrees of success (O’Neil et al., Lloyd et al., Cheng et al.).
IRDye® 800CW 2-DG is a fluorescent optical imaging agent that has been shown to be reactive with implanted tumors derived from a number of cell lines including A431, SW620, 3T3-L1, and PC3LMN4. An example is shown above.
The optical agent exhibits the expected dose response with increasing concentrations of the agent in both cell based and animal experiments.
