Publications : High Performance Multi-Functional PCM Channel Analyzer
Measures return loss, longitudinal conversion loss & longitudinal conversion transfer loss
Toronto, Canada - GAO Instruments has rolled out its PCM channel analyzer designed to measure PCM voice encoding or decoding characteristics. It is commonly used to analyze PCM devices, digital switches, carrier wave communication devices and VoIP devices. It also measures return loss, longitudinal conversion loss and longitudinal conversion transfer loss.
The portable PCM channel analyzer features touch operation, key-stroke operation, expanded mouse operation, flexible control modes and a convenient Windows style GUI.
GAO Instruments' Model 2038 Analyzer incorporates an analog signal generator/receiver, a selective level meter, a BER tester, a ring generator/identifier, a dialer, a DC loop circuit (ICT, OGT), a balanced bridge and a reflecting bridge into a single instrument.

New Products : Syringe pump delivers full stroke for large syringes
Click for larger imageThame, UK -- The new Legato 270 Syringe Pump available from Dorton Analytical, has an optimised user configurable syringe mechanism designed to uniquely deliver a full volume in infuse and withdraw modes whether using small or large syringes.
This reconfigurable mechanism allows the user to change the syringe clamping mechanism to hold from 0.5 ul up to 140 ml syringes.
Two removable pins adjust the syringe mechanism to allow full stoke when using larger syringes.
The Legato 270 features a continuous push and pull pump.
When used with check valves, the unit will draw fluid from a reservoir while the opposite side is dispensing fluid and after the user selected volume is dispensed, the pump will automatically switch through the check valves and refill the empty syringes while dispensing from the other side.

New Products : SteadiQ Neutralizes Temperature Conditions for Accurate Spectrometer Measurement
Controlled atmosphere for range of Ocean Optics spectrometers
Dunedin, FL, USA – A new accessory, the SteadiQ, from Ocean Optics is broadening the range of applications for its field-portable spectrometers. The SteadiQ provides a temperature controlled atmosphere, helping to stabilize temperature effects and eliminate temperature drift in inclement conditions or extreme temperatures from -20 °C to 50 °C.
The rugged, portable device assures more accurate, reliable results in field applications including solar irradiance, volcanic observation, greenhouse monitoring, and industrial environments such as cold food storage.
Available in both UV (200-1100 nm) and Vis-NIR (400-2500 nm) versions, the SteadiQ interfaces directly with Ocean Optics’ USB2000+, USB4000, HR2000+, HR4000, Maya2000, Maya2000 Pro, QE65000, and NIRQuest spectrometers.

New Products : Fiber Optic Sensor Interrogator for PXI Express
New Module Overcomes Noise Susceptibility, Transmission Distance and Other Limitations of Conventional Sensors
AUSTIN TX, USA -- /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- National Instruments has announced the NI PXIe-4844 optical sensor interrogator, a two-slot 3U PXI Express module for fiber Bragg grating (FBG) sensors. FBG sensors operate by reflecting a wavelength of light that corresponds to changes in physical phenomena such as strain and temperature. Unlike conventional electrical sensors, FBG sensors are nonconductive, electrically passive and immune to electromagnetic interference, making them a safe and reliable alternative in environments subject to noise, corrosion or extreme weather.
The transmission medium is standard optical fiber instead of copper wire, making it possible to take measurements over long distances of up to 10 km.
Engineers and scientists can use FBG sensors for the most common measurement types, including strain, temperature and pressure, and several sensors can be daisy chained along a single optical fiber to greatly reduce the size, weight and complexity of the measurement system.
