New Products : Spectroscopy Software Add-on Calculates PAR
Ocean Optics SpectraSuite-PAR module allows users to determine Photosynthetically Active Radiation parameters
Dunedin FL, USA – A new add-on module for Ocean Optics’ SpectraSuite Spectrometer Operating Software allows users of the company’s miniature spectrometers and Jaz optical sensing systems to calculate Photosynthetically Active Radiation (PAR). PAR is an important parameter for evaluating the effect of light on plant growth. SpectraSuite-PAR uses the absolute irradiance spectrum of the light incident on plants and other samples captured by the spectrometer in µW/cm2 (microwatts per square centimeter).
Then, it conveniently converts the irradiance values from to µmol/m2/s (micromoles per square meter per second), the measurement unit more commonly used for PAR analysis.

This signal level analyzer operates over the frequency range of 5 MHz to 870 MHz. It features a rugged design and simple operation and measures CATV TILT, C/N and trunk cable voltage.
Toronto, Canada - GAO Instruments has released its handheld signal level analyzer designed and manufactured for CATV system installation and testing. The analyzer operates over the frequency range of 5 MHz to 870 MHz. It features a rugged design and simple operation and measures CATV TILT, C/N and trunk cable voltage.
The analyzer, Model A0500015, also provides a level range of 30dBuV to 115dBuV. It scans up to 125 channels at a speed of 30 channels per minute and stores twenty-three groups of scanned data (up to 100 channels per group).
It is easy-to-carry and can test CATV signals accurately in both channel (SCAN) and frequency (SPECTRUM) modes. In "SCAN" mode, it scans all channels and records signal levels in internal memory for later analysis.
