New Products : Portable FT-IR Spectrometers for On-site Lubrication Analysis
DANBURY CT, USA - A2 Technologies, the manufacturer of the PAL Series of portable Fourier Transform Infrared (FTIR) analyzers announces important new enhancements to its product line. Designed for on-site lubrication analysis of turbine generators, diesel engines, compressors, gearboxes and hydraulic systems in the power industry, the PAL systems are now able to accurately and precisely quantify the level of water in these oils in the range of 50 – 5000 ppm with accuracy of better than 5%. This advance now permits the PAL systems to be as analytically effective as the gold standard Karl Fischer titration for measuring water in the aforementioned concentration range. The FTIR method is far less time consuming, requires no hazardous or expensive reagents and can be carried out on-site.

New Products : MarSurf™ WS 1 Optical Surface Metrology System
PROVIDENCE RI, USA -- Mahr Federal has expanded its offerings in the world of optical surface metrology with the introduction of the MarSurf™ WS 1. Utilizing white light interferometry in a compact design, the MarSurf WS 1 offers vertical resolution of 0.1 nm (.004 µin) and provides three-dimensional measurement in only a few seconds.
With MarSurf XT 20 topographical evaluation software, the space-saving MarSurf WS 1 can be configured to work both in the lab and on the shop floor.
"With the new processes and materials available these days, traditional stylus measurement is often not adequate to characterize the functional behavior of surfaces," said Pat Nugent, Vice President of Metrology Systems for Mahr Federal.
"The MarSurf WS 1 can provide the three-dimensional recording and evaluation needed, as well as the non-contact measurement required by soft and sensitive materials. In addition, new processes are achieving ever higher levels of surface quality, greatly increasing the need for greater resolution and measuring accuracy."

New Products : First Real Time, High Power CO2 Laser Beam Profiler
Ophir-Spiricon's New At-Line Beam Monitoring System Handles Large Beams Up to 10 KW at 48 fps
Logan, UT - Ophir-Spiricon has announced the II-VI-CO2-58 Industrial Laser Beam Analyzer. The II-VI-CO2-58 is a laser beam profiling system that enables the quantitative measurement and viewing of high power CO2 beams. The system diagnoses faults quickly, in real-time, and corrects issues related to beam stability, alignment, tuning, and optimization.
The II-VI-CO2-58 Industrial Laser Beam Analyzer is a portable device that can be used to quickly and easily spot check performance on a variety of laser-based machines -- in one or more facilities, or in the field. The system's 58mm clear aperture enables the user to measure large laser beams.
The ability to handle up to 10kW of power makes it ideal for high power CO2 lasers. With the ability to produce up to 48 images per second, users can view transient laser performance in real time. Other systems can take up to 10 seconds to create a single image and mask real-time transient responses.

Vendor : Cell Analysis Tools For Life Scientists, Flow Cytometrists, and Clinicians
NEW Guava Technologies Web Site DesignStamford, UK & Hayward CA, USA -- Guava Technologies Inc, has announced that its corporate website has been redesigned to focus on the three main end user groups, that it strives to serve: life scientists, flow cytometrists, and clinicians.
According to Lawrence Bruder, CEO, the end-user centric organisation was the obvious choice for the new site.
He commented "Life scientists, flow cytometrists, and clinicians are the reason we are in business; the reason our employees come to work every day, so given the importance of our website as a vehicle for two-way communication with them, it just made sense to focus it on their needs."
"Flow Cytometry is an essential tool for cell analysis, and our goal is to make it as practical as possible for all life scientists and clinicians who work with cells," said David King, PhD, VP R&D and Operations. "We are truly dedicated to evolving the technology to the point where the flow cytometer becomes a commonplace tool in the life science and clinical lab."

DAQ & DAS : Vertilon Introduces SIB064 PMT Sensor Interface Board
NEW Product Supports Hamamatsu H8500D 64 Element Multianode Photomultiplier Tube
WESTFORD MA, USA – Vertilon Corporation has announced that it has introduced the SIB064 sensor interface board for the Hamamatsu H8500D sixty-four element multianode photomultiplier tube. The SIB064 is the latest addition to Vertilon’s line of sensor interface boards which are products specifically designed to provide the mechanical interface and electrical connectivity between a multianode PMT (MAPMT) and a multichannel data acquisition system. In a typical application such as positron emission tomography (PET) or a high energy physics experiment, an H8500D PMT is plugged into the SIB064 and the assembly mounted directly behind a scintillation crystal.

New Products : Analytical Technology's (ATi's) Dissolved Ozone Monitor
Analytical Technology's (ATi's) Dissolved Ozone Monitor Enables Compliant Measurement of Pure Water in Pharmaceutical Industry

Ashton-u-Lyne, UK & Collegeville, PA, USA -- Analytical Technology Inc. (ATi) announces that its Q45H/64 Dissolved Ozone Monitor enables continuous on-line monitoring and control of ozone systems in the pharmaceutical industry.
The Q45H/64 Monitor from ATi helps pharmaceutical organizations to achieve compliance with regulatory frameworks in the UK and internationally.
Ozone is commonly used in the pharmaceutical industry for the disinfection
of pharmaceutical grade water, which is present in process systems such as
washers, autoclaves or secondary water purification systems.
US Pharmacopeia regulations dictate that pharmaceutical grade water must be validated to demonstrate that it meets certain requirements for ionic and organic chemical purity and must be protected from microbial contamination. Ozone is used for microbial disinfection purposes during the sanitisation of
pharmaceutical grade water production in order to disinfect the water
network prior to distillation.

New Products : New measurement system for rapid flows

The new z8000 Electrical Impedance Tomography instrument can measure rapid flows through a pipe or vessel.
A new high speed tomography instrument is available which can be used to measure and visualise rapid flows, like never before.
The z8000 instrument from Industrial Tomography Systems can capture online data at 1000 frames/sec, which enables the measurement of rapid two phase flow in a pipe or vessel. This is particularly useful for engineers operating in the petrochemical and mining sectors, where understanding flow behaviour is crucial.
Electrical tomography provides a greater understanding of rapid flow regimes and possible application areas including slurry transportation and interface detection.
Unlike other measurement systems, which are traditionally point-based; Electrical Tomography can continuously scan across a volume and provide a picture of what is going on inside a process.
