Applications : Improving analysis of pesticides
Ipswich, UK & Valley Cottage NY, USA -- Genevac have released a new application report that discusses a novel sample preparation protocol and evaluates a centrifugal evaporation system that together increase recovery of volatile compounds enabling improved analysis of pesticides.During preparation of environmental samples, containing semi-volatile pesticides, evaporation becomes a critical step because of the need to avoid compound loss during the concentration process. Analyte loss is detrimental to accurate analysis, and official directives must be satisfied with regard to minimum analyte recovery.

CFPs : Simultaneous Analysis of Four HydroCarbon Gases at ppb-level Concentrations
An Application Note by Aspectrics, Inc.
PLEASANTON CA, USA ? Aspectrics, Inc., the innovator of Encoded Photometric Infrared Spectroscopy (EP-IR) analyzers and winner of the 2006 R&D 100 award, introduces a new application for the analysis of various hydrocarbon gases using its MultiComponent analyzer. This application note demonstrates how the EP-IR MultiComponent Analyzer is able to conduct simultaneous quantitative analysis of several hydrocarbon gases (C1-C4) in a mixture at parts-per-billion (ppb) level concentrations.
Designed to respond to scientists? needs in petrochemical, chemical, environmental and process laboratories, this application note can be downloaded free-of-charge from the newly designed website, www.aspectrics.com upon completion of a no charge registration. (Ed Note: Easy and a good way to help reduce frivolous downloads and content spam-we know!)

New Products : NEC Electronics Announces Development of Novel Resistivity Measurement Technique
Aimed at High Reliability in Automotive Applications in the 32-nm Node and BeyondKAWASAKI, Japan, Dec. 11 /PRNewswire - via Yahoo Finance/ -- NEC Electronics has developed a novel measurement technique that will enable a dramatic increase in the reliability of automotive LSI devices manufactured with next-generation 32- nanometer (nm) node processes.
The technique provides accurate measurements of resistance in the interconnects that connect transistors in LSI devices, even at the very small scales that will be found in next-generation devices. Using this technique, NEC Electronics has verified that metal-capping layers can extend the lifetime of the interconnects in next-generation automotive LSI devices, and has <b?identified cobalt tungsten phosphorus (CoWP) as the eading material candidate for use in those layers.
